Mashed potato is a dish prepared by mashing boiled potatoes. recipes vary from one cook to another depending on the taste and flavour.
- 500grm floury potatoes
- 25grm butter/margarine
- 30ml warm milk
wash,peel and rewash the potatoes. cut to an even size.
cook in lightly salted water, or steam.
drain off the water cover and return to a low heat to dry out the potatoes.
pass through a medium sieve or a ricer.
return the potatoes to a clean pan.
add the butter an mix in with a wooden spoon.
gradually add warm milk, stirring continuously until a smooth creamy consistency is reached.
correct the seasoning and serve.
